I woner if anyone can help me with my reels,I use 525 Mag,s and Penn Vipers recently purchased during the Christmas period as a prezzie to myself.I have had the reels for about 6 months now and all of a sudden I am having problems wih what I think is the mags.I have whot I think a pretty poor pendulum cast but when I cast teh line seems to go well until 60-70 yards then drags the weight in and the rod is pulling out of my hand,I have checked the mags, ratchet and oiled with the oil supplied, can anyone help because I cant let Blakie and Flying spud outfish me :banghead:

How long has the line been on the reel, and how did you load it?

It sounds like the line is too tight and bedded into itself..............

so would it be the mags or the line is too tight (I have put the line on as always) but the problem started before I put on the new line ?

to be honest, I think we putting the line on too tight, cause mine was on my worm rod and I was just trying to plop it out 80 yds

so my next port of call whould be to respool my reels and seek some casting lessons perhaps ?

Beechbuddy! Spud and I have been kicking your *ss for 6 months, you could have an exocet attached to your rod it wouldnt make any difference

have you glued your magnets in? I know of someone who had the same problem and it was cured by a litle dab of superglue on each one just to hold them in place. Mine are glued in and I have also added another set of magnets and am easily able to cast with the slider set to zero, with no overruns or the reel blowing up midcast.

 hi mate i converted all the familes early slidy mags to torna mags to eliminate those sort of probs ,,,,,,,,but if your using 12 lb line your filling the spool up to far ,,cos its thiner its not reducing on the spool fast enough,, check the mags are still in & glue them as IAN said ,,but also make sure youve got the pollarities ? right check that by taking them out & putting them on a tin lid about a inch apart then put em all back in that way up ,,,,,,,,,,sounds long winded but takes 5 mins,,,,,,,,lucky rich,,,,,,,,:cheesy:
