Well Hello there.:smilie4:

This is the first time i,ve put pen to paper on this forum so happy new year to one and all and here's looking forward to a thumping great fishy one.
Most of my fishing is done around the solent from the beach with the odd excursion to Chesil and the work can send me to places far flung so a search about the net for marks and bait shops can see me packing the rods with billy bundles of optomism (who said a pessimist is an optomist with experience) to try my luck.

I,am the right side of fifty ( keeping an eye on the pension funds) with a teenage family and an unexplainable urge to win the lottery.

My best outing recently was to Chesil 7th Jan 3/4 the way to Bridging Camp fished the night high water to low doggies , pin yting , poor cod one 2lb+ yting and a very accceptable 4lb+ codling ( my first ) well pleased.

Jioned the forum for news and views but i,ve only got one burning question at the moment . What is this smily:idea:

Welcome Springer...:cheesy:

Banging your head on the wall hurts, must be better to thump the nearest teenager (you can give him an extra one for me)

poor cod one 2lb+

I dont know what the british shore caught record for poor codis, but I for one have never seen one approaching even a fraction of this size! Maybe it is related to that blue-fin pout?

Just had a look, there are a lot of people on chesil tonight and it is looking good. (saturday night)
