The following information has been passed to me by Martin Burt, Cairman of the PBSAC. As Martin rightly said, the more publicity given to this matter, the better.
Text as follows
You may or may not have heard that 6 local clubs have called for an egm to bring about rule changes that will put the power of the NFSA back in control of the membership. This is the first step in bringing about change in the way the NFSA is run and eventually funded.
Those of you that were at the meeting last week will have heard of the egm that has been called.
This has been brought about because of the restrictive nature of the rules of the NFSA and their unwillingness to recognise the need for change from within. Six sea angling clubs from the Bournemouth and Poole areas have called this Extraordinary General Meeting of the NFSA, to be held at their Head Office at Buckfastleigh on Saturday 29th January 2005 to determine the way forward.
If you care about our sport, please read the attached letter and pledge your support either in person or via a proxy vote.
If you are not a member, but would like to become one, and recognise the need for modernisation, join the NFSA now so that you will then be eligible to vote on this important issue.
The posting is on the PBSAC site already http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=1282 It is also on the Dartmouth website and will be in the free SAN paper. The more advertising we can get on this subject the more chance there is of changing things for the better.
