Hi
I live in Norway north of Bergen and i just started to use surf casting gear, and sins you over there are way more in to this than over her I thought that this forum might help me out a bit :smilie12:
My English isn’t the best but I hope you understand me...
I also fly fish in the sea and for the regular freshwater species (browntrout/pike/salmon/seattrouth).

By the way here is my little web site www.janhinri.blogspot.com (http://www.janhinri.blogspot.com/) where I post my catches from my fishing trips. The text is in Norwegian but the pictures are multi language ;)

Welcome Jan

And Respect:thumbsup: for putting your head into a cod's mouth !!!!

Don't know if we'd get the same sized cod off our beaches, but there's a few on this site that keep trying.

Sorry!

Hello Jan and welcome to the sea angling forum! It must be easier to go fishing when you are sure to catch some fish! (or similar)

I added it afterwards Fluffy, forgot that not everybody speaks Norwegian!

(nor do I really  )

Have spent loads of time in Oslo on business (weeks and weeks), also a week inside the Arctic Circle near Lakselv on business in the late 80's. Was in Oslo when 9/11 happened, was a bu**er getting home due to security.

Hi again and thanks for the welcome.

Your norwegian is almost as good as my english Brownie;)

Hehe the fishing is a bit better over here maybe, its not often I come home empty handed but the size of the fish isn’t always very good. But most of the time either angling for cod/ling/etc or fly fishing for Pollack I usually get a fish from 3lb and up to 6-8lb so its ok. But if you go farther north the fishing is much better.

The cod on my site is a 17,25kg (38lb) and my personal best I caught it angling for ling at night on a little doc (?) whit my old 10-60g, 11” Walton rod whit an 4000shimano reel. The tackle was a single paternoster (is this right?) rig whit a 5/0 Owner mutu light circle hook baited whit a piece of mackerel and a couple of glow beeds.
