I've been having a mare with my 6500ct florida orange.
After its last clean & oil it's been over running. :( On full mags I had to really tighten the end adjusters to stop it.
Took the end plate off Tuesday night to chech the mags were engaged, first cast Weds night resulted in a birdie so had to tighten the ends up again.
Normally to get it to spool off this quick I'd have to knock the mags right off. Not happy.
Has anyone put the brake blocks in & turned the mags off? I'm considering this if I cant fix it.

hi mate........i think using the end stops to slow it down is a bad idea i use the daiwa oil i got with my 7ht & 1 brake block,, but it does take a couple of casts to settle in after a full oil & clean ,, also depends on wind direction & what sized bait your chucking (but was it ok before you oiled it ),,,,,,,,lucky & was it the same oil you allways use ,cause different grades dunalf make a dfferece.......

Rog

Give Pure fishing a ring who services ABU reels they will help you.

You dont need to tighten ends up that will shorten its life!!!!! It should run on no blocks and just a hint of mag even with your style!!!!!

Bring it with you on saturday and if you wish i will have a look for you

Thanks, it used to run sweet as a nut before. Even after a clean & oil so I don't know what I've done wrong.
Might give it anouther go tonight while waiting for 'Henry' to start at 9pm.
I'll certainly bring it Saturday (with some brake blocks just in case).
Don't know if the mags are in right but yes it's the same oil. & I had no choice but to tighten the ends, I was fishing the flounder league & it was unusable as it was.
As for style..... all I was doing was a lob :(
