I have just started fishing again after what is about a five year break for some reason. I got some new equipment and tackle, etc, nothing expensive but good enough to get me going. A Penn 10' spinner and a medium sized fixed spool. I intend to fish off the North Cornwall coast from around Port Isaac up to Bude, its not too far for me to travel there. I like to spin, it keeps you occupied but I also like to throw a float out there and sit back a bit and relax. There's something calming about watching a float, waiting for that twitch and the adrenalin kicks in.
A friend and I went off the rocks at Boscastle the other evening at high tide and I loved it and can't wait to get back there. I'm just waiting for the tide to fall right again in the evening, cause thats the only time I can go really. We managed to catch 7 mackerel between us with feathers, 5 were mine and I went home chuffed. I would have been happy with a bite let alone a catch.
It was all good, finished off with a pint of cold shandy in the pub after.
I have bought some Toby bass lures and fancy my chances at that one evening somewhere, anyone know anywhere. I'd like to catch a bass.
Any how hi to you all. I am looking forward to reading some tips etc, and refresh my memory or even advance my knowledge of how to fish better.
