Hi chaps,
Would this be best done by using tape and putting them on as and when needed or would I b better off whipping the attatchments in place and then sliding the lights on and off as required?

Hi nickc what sorta tip lights are you using ,,,
you can get some neat little push on rubber fixings for the snap type lights ,& they stay on ok with casting as well,,,

hi m8.
Ive got those little led lights with the orange fastening and I stuck mine on with super glue then a bit of insulating tape nice and tight then a dab of superglue to stop the tape peeling off. Super glue doesnt damage your rod.
I would suggest putting it about 6 inches or so down from the tip to avoid the line catching when casting. It doesnt happen often but u could crack off or loose yer light.

Thanks guys for your advice.
I have got both the battery powered tip lights and the rubber attatchments for the starlite type of lights, got the latter this morning, so I will try the rubbers first to see how they fare and if I am satisfied with those then I'll stick with 'em.
Thanks once again

I used some hot melt glue, then got some black cotton thread, then tightly wound it on, a drop more hot melt glue stop's it unwinding. Best bet I found though is reflective tape, and a decent headlamp, save you taking the lights on and off when you casting.

I never got on with tip lights (if you mean the ones with battery in) the line kept snagging etc... I found the little starlites good though. I use the tape supplied or a litle selotape to attach them. Mostly though I have found tip lights are unnesecary, I use mighty brite reflective tape and find that just my head lite or even ambient moon lite illuminates the tips just fine.
