Hello everyone.
I live in a little place near Bradford so i'm fairly central'ish.
Never sea fished and really want to get away for a few days and try some beach/rock fishing and preferably in a quiet location, i.e not surrounded by other people.
Given my location i figure anywhere between Boston and Hartlepool on the east coast and Liverpool to Morecambe Bay on the west coast is well within reach for a quick couple of days trip so do any of you have some recommendations within those stretches of coastline?
I would be happy to fish off rocks but if someone could recommend somewhere that also has a nice beach section that would be fantastic for me, i like the beach
I've been a course angler for many years from small fry to BIG carp so i have a fairly good array of tackle but no real clue as regards sea fishing.
I'm hoping to be able to start out utilising the equipment i already own if possible although i have seen that i can pick up a beach casting rod for very little cash so any hints or tips on what i would need for the area would be most useful, such as could i make a softish tipped 2.5lb carp rod work for beach work :dunno: etc.
I have a decent range from small 9ft soft telescopics to 13ft stiff carp dragging sticks lol.
As i said initially i just looking for somewhere me and a mate can disappear for two days and have a fairly quiet few days just catching ( although the chance to catch something of 10lbs plus would be nice as my friend has done very little fishing before.
Oh and i got to clue when it comes to baits so some help in that department would be nice too.
Thanx in advance for any replies :cheesy:
Ah just to add,,,
I had initially thought of going to Morecambe Bay just because i never been before and there somewhere i can stay cheap ( yup i'm tight lol ) and i think it looks lovely.
If someone knows about the beach/rock fishing etc in that area that would be brilliant as i could kill the proverbial two birds with one stone, thanx
David
