Weed at Avon Beach?

Thinking of going down there Friday night but unsure as it's pretty prone to weed isn't it - does anyone know if it's likely to be fishable?

The guys fishing a match down there last night had a 45 min spell of weed , apart from that it was clear

I was there Tuesday night. As Dave says there was a spell of about 45 minutes or so of copious quantities of weed in the water and with the westerly wind and weight of weed on the line grippers were being pulled out. Not all anglers in the match were affected though

Chap next to me got pulled onto a groyne a couple of times.

The week before when conditions were calmer also had quite a bit of weed in the water although it was closer in and you could avoid it on the retrieve if you kept the rod tip high.

Its pot luck i guess
